KATSINA STATE GOVERNMENT DISBURSES ₦328,123,392.35 AS MEDICAL STUDENTS’ ALLOWANCES (PHASE I: 2026)

The Katsina State Government, under the able leadership of His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, CON, Executive Governor of Katsina State, has approved and successfully disbursed funds for Phase I of the 2026 Medical Students’ Allowance Scheme.

This initiative, implemented through the Katsina State Hospital Services Management Board (KTHSMB), reaffirms the Government’s sustained commitment to strengthening human capital development in the health sector and supporting the academic progression of indigenous medical students.

A total sum of Three Hundred and Twenty-Eight Million, One Hundred and Twenty-Three Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety-Two Naira, Thirty-Five Kobo (328,123,392.35) has been disbursed to eligible beneficiaries.

The disbursement covers 650 medical students enrolled across 33 accredited universities within and outside the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The scheme is specifically designed to alleviate financial constraints faced by students, thereby enabling them to focus effectively on their academic and professional training.

The General Manager of KTHSMB, Dr. Muhammad Nazir Shehu, confirmed the disbursement and noted that the initiative is a strategic investment by the State Government to build a competent, resilient, and service-oriented healthcare workforce capable of meeting the evolving health needs of Katsina State and the nation at large.

Beneficiaries are hereby encouraged to utilize this support judiciously and remain committed to academic excellence, professionalism, and ethical conduct, in line with the expectations and vision of the Katsina State Government.
