Dr. Muhammad Nazir Shehu Congratulates Five General Hospitals on DMSA Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) Excellence Awards

The General Manager of the Katsina State Hospital Services Management Board (KTHSMB), Dr. Muhammad Nazir Shehu, has congratulated five General Hospitals in Katsina State for emerging as recipients of the Drugs and Medical Supplies Agency (DMSA) Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) Excellence Awards, in recognition of their outstanding performance, transparency, accountability, and exemplary management of the Drug Revolving Fund Scheme.

The award-winning hospitals are:

  • General Hospital Funtua
  • General Hospital Dutsinma
  • General Hospital Katsina
  • General Hospital Ingawa
  • General Hospital Malumfashi

Dr. Muhammad Nazir Shehu described the recognition as a clear demonstration of the commitment, professionalism, and dedication of healthcare workers and hospital management teams towards ensuring the continuous availability of quality medicines and efficient pharmaceutical services for the people of Katsina State.

He noted that the awards reflect the significant progress being recorded in the health sector under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, whose administration has continued to prioritize healthcare through strategic investments, institutional reforms, and improved access to quality medical services.

According to Dr. Shehu, the achievements recorded by the award-winning hospitals are a direct outcome of the government's deliberate policies aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring accountability in the management of public health resources.

He commended the Drugs and Medical Supplies Agency (DMSA), under the leadership of its Executive Secretary, Pharmacist Fatima Shuaibu, for promoting transparency, efficiency, and excellence through the Drug Revolving Fund Scheme, which has transformed medicine availability across healthcare facilities in the state.

He also applauded Governor Radda for recently flagging off the distribution of free medicare commodities and medical equipment donated through Project CURE, a landmark intervention that further strengthens healthcare delivery and improves access to quality medical services, especially for vulnerable citizens across the state.

"The recognition bestowed upon these hospitals is not only an honour to the individual facilities but also a testament to the effectiveness of the healthcare reforms being implemented by the Katsina State Government. It demonstrates that accountability, prudent resource management, and dedication to service excellence are yielding positive results for our healthcare system," Dr. Shehu stated.

He urged the management and staff of the five hospitals not to relent in sustaining the high standards that earned them the prestigious recognition, while encouraging other health facilities across the state to emulate their commitment to transparency, efficiency, and quality service delivery.

Dr. Muhammad Nazir Shehu reaffirmed the commitment of the Katsina State Hospital Services Management Board to supporting policies and programmes that strengthen healthcare institutions, improve patient outcomes, and advance the government's vision of providing accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services to every resident of Katsina State.

The Hospital Services Management Board celebrates the outstanding achievements of General Hospital Funtua, General Hospital Dutsinma, General Hospital Katsina, General Hospital Ingawa, and General Hospital Malumfashi, and congratulates their management, healthcare professionals, and entire workforce for bringing honour to their respective facilities and contributing to the continued transformation of healthcare delivery in Katsina State.
